Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to lead our transitional family residence serving families with children. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the program, ensuring it operates in accordance with regulatory guidelines and Win's policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a multi-disciplinary team, including Social Service Supervisors, Housing Coordinators, Case Managers, and Administrative Assistants.
  • Coordinate services provided by Employment Specialists, Child Care staff, and Recreation staff to ensure an integrated service plan.
  • Provide coaching, training, and staff development to all staff in accordance with Win's policies and procedures.
  • Ensure new staff orientation is provided to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Monitor the Client Assistance and Rehousing Enterprise System (CARES) database for timely documentation.
  • Train and support staff in Evidence Based Practices (EBP), Trauma Informed Care (TIC), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
  • Establish linkages with community agencies for services required by shelter residents.
  • Monitor the program's effectiveness in reaching goals of permanent housing, employment, and family stability.
  • Analyze and develop procedures and policies to ensure quality service provision.
  • Assure a safe and healthy environment by participating in security and maintenance.
  • Co-authorize purchase orders and ensure compliance with Win's procurement policies.
  • Manage petty cash and program metro cards.
  • Participate in local community organizations and attend Community Board meetings.
  • Represent the agency at meetings, conferences, and public hearings.
  • Establish a Community Advisory Board to meet quarterly.
  • Participate in staff interviewing and hiring process.
Essential Functions
  • Be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Be able to ascend/descend stairs in the building assigned.
  • Be able to travel to offsite meetings and trainings throughout New York City.
Qualifications
  • Commitment to Win's mission, vision, and values.
  • MPH, MSW, or MA in Health/Social Services is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the human services sector, including three (3) years in a supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with EBP, MI, and TIC.
  • Able to manage boundary setting and cultural reflexivity.
  • Able to provide outstanding customer service to clients and stakeholders.
  • Able to maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with all clients and staff in the residence.
  • Knowledge of CARES a plus.
  • Solid computer skills, knowledge of MS Office and Outlook a plus.
  • Must be willing and able to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus.
