Clinical Program Director

The Clinical Supervisor at Urban Recovery is responsible for overseeing the clinical aspects of our inpatient-based substance abuse treatment program. This includes directing, supervising, and monitoring the work of clinical staff in providing substance abuse treatment services and aftercare planning for assigned clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the program director and counselor(s) to determine the continuum of care for program participants.
- Direct program counseling staff in the provision of family-focused, trauma-informed mental health services to the inpatient treatment community.
- Provide individual and group counseling and participate in case conferences.
- Review curricula and other program materials for clinical appropriateness and approve the acquisition of all new curricula and other programming materials.
- Ensure that counseling staff have been adequately trained in the use of any curriculum being delivered to clients.
- Directly, and through subordinate staff, supervise the assessment of all newly arrived clients; supervise clinical staff in scheduling all clients into treatment activities; assign caseloads; and monitor and evaluate clinicians in the performance of their duties.
- Review and approve all clinical documentation (treatment progress, treatment plans, and client coordination of care plan) and conduct regular quality assurance and quality improvement reviews to ensure that all appropriate record-keeping is performed on a timely basis.
- Assess and evaluate staff; develop methods to use and enhance strengths and to isolate and minimize weaknesses.
- Act as the program's liaison with families and offer recommendations for program development and improvement.
- Provide ongoing client assessment to identify changing needs pertaining to the individual and family treatment and development strategy.
- Conduct regular chart reviews, ensuring that all appropriate record-keeping is performed on a timely basis and that all governing agency regulations are met.
- Attend meetings called by the program director and participate in discussions concerning the revision, improvement, and expansion of existing programs and offer recommendations.
- Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization review activities and make recommendations to the program director for plans of corrections.
- Maintain established performance and conduct standards in accordance with organizational expectations.
- A Master's degree from an accredited college with a major in medicine, chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in administration or the human services), or other related field.
- Certification as a substance abuse counselor.
- Must be a qualified health professional (QHP).
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the delivery of substance abuse treatment counseling and supervising staff in a substance abuse program.

- Knowledge and skills as they relate to the NY licensing standards and JCAHO accreditation standards and NY Department of Drug and Alcohol standards and be accountable for compliance with these standards as they apply to the Residential and Rehab Program.
