Program Director

Kings Bay Y is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Director to lead our after-school program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the program, ensuring compliance with DYCD regulations, and developing and implementing program activities that promote Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and project-based learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Supervision: Lead a diverse team of program staff, including group leaders and other program personnel, to ensure effective program implementation and staff development.
  • Program Development: Develop and maintain program activities that align with DYCD regulations and promote SEL and project-based learning.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all DYCD online database requirements are met, including weekly updates on attendance, work scope, program schedules, and staffing.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and organize data to ensure compliance with DOH regulations, maintain attendance and activity records, and generate reports as needed.
  • Program Implementation: Implement Challenge Based Learning, Clubs, and Health & Wellness workshops to facilitate learning in smaller groups.
  • Community Engagement: Maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for students, families, and community members.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Strengthen the connection between the school day curriculum and the after-school program through regular meetings with school principals and key staff.
  • Summer Programming: Assist in developing, implementing, and managing Middle School Summer programming.
  • Family Engagement: Collaborate with families to address and solve problems effectively.
  • Staff Development: Lead monthly staff meetings to assess performance, discuss challenges, and celebrate strengths.
  • Program Evaluation: Ensure program enrollment and participation targets are met in accordance with DYCD contract requirements.
  • Representation: Represent the program at off-site meetings, conferences, and outreach events to promote the program.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience supervising youth programs.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with DYCD and DOH regulations is preferred.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to foster team collaboration.
