Cornerstone Program Overview

The Cornerstone Program is a collaborative effort between CAMBA and other community organizations, providing education, recreation, cultural activities, health information, and social services to students, families, and residents in Brooklyn. Our programs are designed to foster community engagement, promote social mobility, and support the well-being of our clients.

Assistant Director Role

The Assistant Director will play a critical role in supporting the Program Director in overseeing the Cornerstone Program's operations, staff, and services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Improving teamwork and collaboration among direct reporting staff and peers
  • Troubleshooting program issues and making decisions in accordance with program policies and protocols
  • Providing training and coaching to direct reporting staff to enhance their work performance
  • Administering constructive discipline, as needed
  • Managing time effectively and coordinating program activities to maximize staff productivity
  • Reviewing program documentation for accuracy, completeness, and clarity
  • Participating in administrative and staff meetings
  • Preparing reports for CAMBA management and funders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the Assistant Director must possess:

  • An Associate's degree (A.A.) and 2 years' experience, or a Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.W.) and/or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Evening and Saturday hours required
  • Must obtain required clearances and certifications
Compensation and Benefits

CAMBA offers a competitive salary range of $43,000-$47,000 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, paid time off, and paid holidays.
