Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural) is required. Advanced degrees such as an MBA or a Professional Engineering License are advantageous.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in areas such as transmission, substation, and distribution planning, design, operations, condition assessment, asset management, or maintenance is essential. Candidates with a diverse skill set that includes utility asset management and engineering design expertise are highly preferred.

Job Overview:

This role is pivotal in the development, execution, and continuous enhancement of a premier asset assessment framework for all physical assets. The position involves data analysis and providing expert insights to assess the health and risks associated with the asset portfolio, as well as supporting strategies for repair or replacement.

The incumbent will be responsible for creating and maintaining various criteria, standards, and procedural documents that facilitate the execution of transmission, distribution, and substation analyses. This role will serve as the primary resource for health assessments of physical assets in support of project development.

Engage in initiatives to:

  • Develop and enhance a top-tier asset assessment program.
  • Evaluate and implement organizational process improvements and leverage cutting-edge technology to boost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with industry peers to ensure continuous improvement and benchmarking.
  • Prepare high-quality asset management strategies and policies to influence positive regulatory outcomes.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders by providing expert guidance and well-documented support for asset management practices.
  • Establish methods to objectively monitor the health, risk, performance, and rates of deterioration or improvement of physical assets.
  • Develop expertise to mentor and support team members in alignment with business objectives.

  • Data Analysis: Proficient in gathering, manipulating, and interpreting data to meet rigorous standards.
  • Asset Evaluations: Skilled in analysis, evaluation, and technical report preparation aligned with business goals.
  • Power Systems Knowledge: Practical understanding of planning, design, operations, and maintenance in transmission and distribution.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively, including written and verbal communication.
  • Team Leadership: Capable of leading internal and external teams towards achieving common objectives.
Strategic and Technical Support:

Collaborate across various business areas, providing advice on asset management issues, project technical reviews, and equipment standardization. Offer technical support to internal and external teams across multiple locations.

Communication and Influence:

Utilize strong communication skills to inform management and provide strategic input for business planning and decision-making. Represent the company in national and regional forums, addressing regulatory and technical matters to advance business objectives.

Proactive Needs Assessment:

Lead comprehensive facility assessments to identify system needs and evaluate potential threats and opportunities. Establish strategies for prioritizing system-wide requirements.
