The CAS Oil and Gas Accounting Services team provides accounting and financial reporting services for Upstream Oil and Gas Operators, Investors, and Royalty Portfolios. They leverage their deep understanding of industry requirements and stakeholder needs to deliver outstanding services through continuous process enhancements and technological advancements.

The primary responsibility of the Senior Manager, Oil & Gas is to supervise accounting and financial management services provided by team members to our clients by reviewing and delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial records. You will be tasked with reviewing financial statements, monitoring information related to our client's key performance indicators, and offering advice and insights to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

As Senior Manager, you will oversee all phases of planning and managing large and complex outsourced accounting engagements. This role requires extensive knowledge of upstream oil and gas accounting department specialties, including General Ledger operations, A/P & JIB, and Revenue management. You will be responsible for all aspects of staff development and performance, engaging hands-on with projects, process improvements, staff planning, and client engagement profitability.

Client Service Delivery
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives in client organizations, providing top-tier client service.
  • Implement client service processes for each of your accounts; oversee adherence to processes and controls.
  • Set up and configure software to align with the client's business processes.
  • Maintain the confidentiality and independence of client relationships.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely completion of duties.
  • Effectively understand and diagnose client issues.
  • Maintain active communication to manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Manage client engagement staffing, billing/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
General Ledger and Month-end Close
  • Plan and manage service delivery for multiple clients, independently and autonomously.
  • Oversee client engagement preparation activities, including assigning responsibilities to staff and reviewing client deliverables.
  • Possess a strong understanding of upstream oil and gas accounting principles.
  • Lead month-end close activities and prepare financial reports.
  • Develop and implement procedures for major functional areas.
  • Demonstrate analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Take on special project work, managing it from start to finish.
  • Investigate and implement automation tools to enhance efficiencies and margins.
  • Exhibit flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to multitask to meet deadlines.
Business Development
  • Engage proactively in business development activities with the goal of acquiring new clients and projects.
  • Identify opportunities and additional firm services that could benefit clients.
  • Build rapport and maintain active relationships with clients and prospects.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance our services and client experience.
Team Member Growth & Development
  • Actively participate in CAS senior manager initiatives by being engaged and proposing solutions.
  • Assist in hiring and recruiting high-quality staff.
  • Mentor staff by providing performance feedback and coaching.
  • Serve as a positive role model and leader within the team.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Ten (10) or more years of progressively responsible experience in professional accounting functions, including six (6) or more years in the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Six (6) or more years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
  • Strong knowledge of upstream oil and gas accounting concepts.
  • High motivation, initiative, and a positive attitude.
  • Experience with relevant accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical thinker and problem solver.
  • Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
