Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marketing and Events Specialist to join our team at REI. This role will be responsible for managing and developing community partnerships and executing local activations, such as community events, stewardship projects, and in-store events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement local marketing and brand engagement campaigns to increase brand awareness and customer lifetime value.
  • Build and maintain local partnerships to support community engagement and outreach initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Retail and Experiences teams to develop the local Community Engagement Plan, aligning with REI's national business goals and brand priorities.
  • Execute local events, stewardship, and community-based activations to drive business results and connect Co-op wide initiatives at a regional and market level.
  • Coordinate local experience marketing, event execution, partnerships procurement, and investment.
  • Assist in budget management, marketing, and New Store opening support, as needed.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of event production experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in regional marketing programs, community engagement programs (events, community group partnerships, and activities).
  • BA in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in building productive and mutually beneficial relationships between for-profit and non-profit organizations.
  • 1+ years of experience in managing budgets.
  • Passion for preserving and recreating in the outdoors.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to effectively resolve difficult customer issues.
