Property Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter

We are seeking a highly skilled Property Treaty Reinsurance Underwriter to join our team at QBE Insurance Group. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for underwriting property treaty excess of loss and proportional reinsurance, as well as business development and growth activities.
Key Responsibilities- Underwriting and Risk Management: Utilize your expertise to underwrite complex business, analyzing existing and new submissions, evaluating historical experience, and reviewing company financials.
- Pricing and Contract Management: Apply your subject matter expertise to establish pricing for coverage, working independently and with actuarial teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Contract Wording and Review: Oversee contract wording to review coverage issues and ensure appropriate terms and conditions are established.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with senior department leaders, sharing specialized knowledge and recommending opportunities for improvement to influence strategy development.
- Reporting and Analysis: Aggregate and monitor key exposure and metrics, developing reports as required by senior department leaders.
- Portfolio Management: Measure and optimize portfolio progress by reviewing and analyzing underwriting data, monitoring industry best practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with current and potential customers, providing personalized and quality customer service to share and clarify information and maximize company brand.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Promote adherence to the underwriting framework, communicating internal guidelines, regulatory and legal requirements, and reinsurance requirements to less experienced underwriters and demonstrating adoption of good practices to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience: 7 years relevant experience.
- Preferred Competencies: Understand market trends and current organizational strategies, collaborate with key stakeholders, build and maintain professional networks, communicate information in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner, and drive for stakeholder success.
