About the Role
The Reinsurance Team at Emergent Holdings plays a crucial role in the execution of the organization's treaties. This includes system configuration, interdepartmental collaboration, submission preparation, negotiation of contracts and terms, management of treaty documentation, and oversight of compliance and control processes.

Key Responsibilities
This position is tasked with assisting in the placement of reinsurance through the placement unit and overseeing daily operations related to reinsurance support and compliance.

  • Collaborate with brokers, business units, actuarial teams, corporate underwriting, and other departments to prepare reinsurance submissions under the supervision of managers or senior analysts, including data testing and validation.
  • Document reinsurance agreements, terms, and all compliance and control elements associated with reinsurance.
  • Prepare supporting exhibits for reinsurance reports and presentations.
  • Facilitate special acceptance or referral processes related to reinsurance.
  • Engage with reinsurers and brokers to support reinsurance placement.
  • Conduct ad-hoc projects, research, and analysis to support reinsurance placements and strategies.

Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with a preference for business or insurance-related majors. Coursework towards Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and/or Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designations from The Institutes is highly desirable.

Experience:
1 to 3 years of relevant experience is required.

Skills:
Proficiency in property and casualty insurance, reinsurance performance, and risk metrics is essential. The ability to work with large datasets in Excel, including data analysis, charting, pivot tables, and advanced formulas (e.g., VLOOKUPs) is crucial. Candidates should demonstrate logical thinking to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Effective communication skills are necessary to exchange information clearly and concisely, present ideas, report facts, and respond to inquiries appropriately.

Working Conditions
This role is performed in an office environment with no unusual hazards, and minimal travel is required.

Compensation
The actual compensation decision is based on internal equity, the candidate's skills and professional experience, geographic location, market conditions, and other potential factors. The estimated salary range for this role is between $57,400 and $96,200.
