Role Summary:
As the Senior Vice President of Casualty Treaty Underwriting, you will spearhead the US Casualty Treaty Underwriting division, focusing on crafting profitable insurance solutions aligned with strategic objectives. Your leadership will be pivotal in refining operational processes to support business growth and achieve financial targets.
- Direct and mentor the underwriting team, fostering talent development and optimizing the portfolio for maximum profitability.
- Underwrite complex Casualty reinsurance treaties, ensuring alignment with business goals while negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with brokers and clients, providing expert consultation and addressing intricate inquiries.
- Analyze the Specialty Casualty Lines treaty portfolio to track progress against business objectives and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal standards, promoting best practices in underwriting.
- Engage in underwriting audits and present findings for both new and renewal treaties.
- Participate in special projects aimed at improving departmental processes and outcomes.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture by exemplifying QBE's values and encouraging a collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Experience:
Over 10 years in relevant fields
Preferred Skills:
- Proven technical underwriting and pricing expertise
- Extensive network within the industry
- Strong leadership capabilities, including team development
Additional Experience:
- 10+ years in Casualty reinsurance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in strategic underwriting frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams
Licenses/Certifications:
- Progress toward or attainment of professional designations such as CPCU, ARe, RPLU, or actuarial qualifications.
