Position Overview:

ANSER is currently seeking a Technical Communications Editor to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Research and Development Directorate. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating communication and marketing materials, alongside providing technical editing and writing assistance. This role requires interaction with high-ranking military, government, intelligence, and corporate personnel.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit experience as an author and/or editor for official documents and written packages (memos, papers, strategies, etc.) intended for high-level approval and signature.
  • Act as a primary contact for the Research and Development Directorate regarding written media, communication services, and web presence.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing compliance with a style guide for all branding and messaging, including leading revisions and updates to the Directorate's style guide.
  • Develop and refine editorial and communication standard operating procedures.
  • Be adaptable and ready to assist with additional tasks requiring the aforementioned skills, such as preparing newsletters and developing training materials.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of an active DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of pertinent experience, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to adapt and assist in new areas.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.

Desired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):

  • Understanding of the R&D Directorate's role within the DoD acquisition lifecycle framework and technology transition process.
  • Familiarity with military operations in CBRN environments.
  • Experience with task management systems such as CATMS.
