Position Summary

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Benefits Administrator to enhance our People Systems team. This role involves overseeing and managing employee benefits programs, which encompass medical, dental, vision, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), Leaves of Absence (LOA), Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and various state-specific leave regulations. You will also be responsible for vendor management, coordinating open enrollment, administering 401(k) plans, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with 1095 regulations. Reporting directly to the Director of People Systems, you will play a crucial role in managing benefits for approximately 900 salaried employees, ensuring adherence to regulations and providing optimal support to our workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer guidance and support to employees regarding various benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, EAP, LOA, STD, LTD, and FMLA.
  • Administer FMLA and state-specific leave laws, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Act as the primary liaison for benefit vendors, managing relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Oversee the annual open enrollment process, including communication, education, and enrollment activities.
  • Administer the 401(k) plan, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Manage ACA compliance and oversee the preparation and distribution of 1095 forms.
  • Process employee lifecycle changes and updates within benefits systems.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the benefits function, maintaining the Benefits Procedures Manual.
  • Provide backup support for HRIS, benefits, and compensation administration.
  • Address routine employee inquiries related to benefits, delivering accurate and timely information.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to formulate and implement benefits policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about changes in benefits laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in creating and delivering benefits education and communication programs for employees.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, EAP, LOA, STD, LTD, FMLA, and state-specific leave laws.
  • Strong understanding of 401(k) plan administration and compliance.
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and coordinating open enrollment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively assist and educate employees on benefits matters.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems.
  • Ability to stay updated on changes in benefits laws and regulations.
