ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

  • Building and nurturing relationships with existing and potential clients within the designated territory across all Mannington & Phenix product lines.
  • Delivering product knowledge presentations to retail and flooring contractor teams.
  • Responding promptly to customer inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Collaborating with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics, and technical service teams.
  • Evaluating market potential and assessing the value of current and prospective clients.
  • Maintaining a robust sales pipeline, targeting a minimum of 30% of annual sales revenue through the Mannington consultative selling process.
  • Conducting regular account reviews and business meetings with key clients.
  • Providing insights on customer needs, competitive landscape, and potential for new offerings.
  • Becoming a product knowledge expert, understanding applications, market trends, and promotional strategies.
  • Ensuring merchandising displays are current and meet marketing standards.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer account pricing.
  • Representing Mannington & Phenix at industry trade shows and events.
  • Managing territory within allocated budgets for samples, merchandising, and travel expenses.
  • Utilizing technology and CRM systems to enhance sales revenue.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:

Performance expectations for the Territory Sales Manager include:

  • Achieving annual territory sales revenue of $2.1 million.
  • Managing a minimum of 75 active accounts.
  • Conducting at least 20 customer-facing calls weekly.
  • Completing a minimum of 10 consultative sales process calls weekly.
  • Maintaining up-to-date CRM records and customer business plans.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of outside sales experience with a proven performance record.
  • Experience with a consultative sales process.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CRM for sales management and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify market trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This role involves frequent travel to engage with flooring retailers, requiring mobility within various environments. The position demands physical activities such as standing, walking, and lifting while managing product displays. Candidates must be able to navigate diverse weather conditions.
