SITE COORDINATOR I (Large Site)
EARLY LEARNING PROGRAM

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the guidance of the Director, this role involves overseeing and coordinating curriculum and staff development within a Child Care Center, along with related responsibilities as necessary. This position is classified as non-exempt.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Oversee, direct, and manage activities at the site.
  • Develop curriculum, organize meetings with staff and parents, and engage with the Parent Committee.
  • Collaborate and strategize with social services and health personnel.
  • Procure materials for the site and assist nutrition and custodial staff with ordering and scheduling.
  • Conduct home visits, prepare written documentation, and review budgetary allocations.
  • Facilitate local workshops for staff and parents.
  • Provide instruction in a preschool classroom as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent. A valid Child Development Supervisor Permit is required, which can be obtained through the completion of an AA Degree or 60 units including 24 ECE/CD units, 6 units in ECE Administration, and 2 units in adult supervision. OR
A current Administrative Services or Teaching credential, or a secondary credential in Home Economics issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, with a minimum of 12 ECE or CD units and 3 units of supervised field experience in an ECE setting; OR completion of California Teacher Credential approved training.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
  • Minimum of two years of recent experience supervising adults in a Preschool/Day Care Teacher role or equivalent.
  • NOTE: Experience must be verified as satisfactorily performed in a paid or volunteer capacity within a Preschool/Day Care Center environment.
  • Familiarity with principles and practices of Early Childhood Education and Child Development Guidelines; ability to work collaboratively with children, parents, volunteers, and parent committees; proficiency in report preparation; computer skills are desirable.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. A valid California driver's license, current DMV report, reliable transportation, and proof of minimum California vehicle insurance.
2. Possession of a valid Child Development Site Supervisor Permit.
3. Valid CPR License, which may be obtained upon employment.
4. Completion of a criminal background check and fingerprint clearance (cost covered by the employer).
5. Pre-employment physical health assessment and TB clearance (cost covered by the employer when conducted by an Agency-contracted medical provider).
6. Ability to sit on low chairs (child-sized), walk, stoop, and squat as necessary; capable of lifting and carrying over 40 pounds regularly and standing for up to 85% of scheduled working hours.
7. Compliance with Senate Bill 792 immunization requirements for influenza, pertussis, and measles, as well as mandated reporter training under new law AB 1207 within 60 days of employment.
