Job Title: Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at the Utah Navajo Health System, Inc. (UNHS) Community Health Center in Southeastern Utah.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients, working closely with our healthcare team to ensure excellent patient outcomes. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and a passion for working in a dynamic and fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform nursing assessments and identify pertinent information to verbalize to the provider
  • Review and implement primary care provider orders
  • Participate in ongoing education and training
  • Educate patients regarding their healthcare and the healthcare system
  • Reduce the risk of infections
  • Safely administer medications
  • Perform nursing evaluation and follow-up with patients
  • Accept delegated tasks when necessary
Requirements:
  • Certification or registration within the state of Utah
  • One year certificate from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to safely lift, push, and pull 50 pounds or more above waist
  • Must possess an American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) certification
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check
  • Must obtain and maintain First Aid/Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must receive annual inoculation of flu vaccine
  • Must receive annual tuberculin skin test
