Job Summary:

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a respected medical practice as a Patient Care Assistant. The successful candidate will maintain a professional image in the office and in all communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate quality patient care under the supervision of the provider.
  • Verify patient information by interviewing the patient, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of the visit.
  • Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests.
  • Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding, and keeping patient information confidential.
  • Assist with office procedures, injections, etc., as requested.
  • Review messages with physicians and respond as directed in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Communicate test and lab results and transmit other information from the provider to the patient.
  • Answer questions as appropriate.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Keep exam rooms clean and patient ready.
  • Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions.
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments.
  • Serve and protect the medical practice by adhering to clinic and professional standards, policies, and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Maintain CPR certification.
  • Other duties as assigned.
