Position Overview
The Medical Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in executing fluoroscopic procedures for patients across various age demographics, adhering to established radiology practice standards. Key responsibilities encompass patient imaging care, meticulous record maintenance, assisting medical professionals, and performing related duties within the outpatient surgical setting. This role may also entail collaboration with anesthesia technicians and support staff as necessary.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and instruct patients for radiologic examinations under guidance.
- Accurately position patients for radiographic imaging.
- Familiarity with Large C-Arms (Phillips and GE) primarily utilized in surgical environments.
- Operate radiologic equipment to capture x-ray images of the human anatomy.
- Develop and process x-ray films for diagnostic purposes.
- Assist in fluoroscopic procedures and ensure equipment maintenance.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic radiologic technology is mandatory.
- Completion of an accredited training program in radiologic technology.
Technical Skills :
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel applications.
- Familiarity with medical software systems such as WebMD and Intergy is advantageous.
Additional Attributes :
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic surgical environment.
- Capable of multitasking and maintaining composure under pressure.
- Understanding of sterile procedural environments.
Physical and Mental Requirements :
- Ability to remain on feet for extended durations and assist patients with mobility challenges.
- Involves both sitting and standing in an office-like setting.
- Strong verbal communication skills are essential.
- Proficient in computer operations.
Work Environment :
This position is situated within an Ambulatory Surgical Center.
