Responsibilities- Obtain patient histories, including chief complaints, medical histories, and medication lists.
- Perform and document visual acuity tests, confrontational visual fields, and pupillary function tests.
- Provide exceptional patient care and support throughout the clinic flow.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including inventory management and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in exam and procedure rooms.
- Support the ophthalmic photographer with OCT imaging and other tasks as needed.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure smooth patient flow.
- Perform other duties as assigned by physicians and management.
- High school diploma required; some college education preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in medical assisting or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in multiple computer systems and software.
- Training in HIPAA requirements and confidentiality.
- Ability to move frequently between standing and sitting positions.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
- Ability to type or write legibly in a dimly lit setting.
- Ability to hear softly spoken words.
- Ability to provide support for patients during exam procedures.
