About the Role

Sysco is seeking a highly skilled Product Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in achieving company goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute Category Management and other initiatives within assigned categories to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, brokers, and sales teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Manage and promote local assortment within assigned categories to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Conduct local supplier reviews and negotiations using corporate best business practices to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Facilitate corporate assortment training at the operation company as required to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Support inventory depletion process by identifying items to be discontinued and assisting in supplier negotiations to return products.
  • Drive results on focus categories and support promotional activities and selling events to increase sales and revenue.
  • Direct line of contact for local sales and communicate with and assist Sales on all issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • New item and Vendor creation to expand product offerings and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Drive increased Sysco Brand sales by developing and executing strategies to promote and sell Sysco products.
  • Manage category equities and market pricing to support pricing integrity in conjunction with Revenue Management team.
  • Collaborate and review Sales and GP results of Market Cost Price changes with Revenue Management team to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Provide market commodity/industry news and updates to the sales organization to ensure they are informed and equipped to make informed decisions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions.
  • 3+ years of experience in a retail, wholesale, or distribution environment.
  • Experience working with suppliers, brokers, and sales teams to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to execute all Merchandising standard processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Strong supplier negotiation skills and ability to form a professional working relationship with suppliers and brokers.
  • Strong Excel skills to analyze data and make informed decisions.
