The COMET contract encompasses comprehensive management and execution of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at a prominent space center. These activities will support various programs, including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System.

We are seeking a technician to provide support for the Launch Equipment Test Facility (LETF).
The LETF is a multifaceted testing and development area that caters to a wide range of operational programs. Established in the 1970s, it has evolved to support contemporary space initiatives, testing various large-scale hardware and ground support equipment components.
Key Responsibilities:
· Offer technical assistance to engineers in areas such as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process enhancement.
· Aid in the design, assessment, and/or modification of machinery and equipment.
· Execute routine tasks under close supervision or according to detailed guidelines.
· Review work in progress or upon completion.
· Conduct daily operations of Ground Systems Technical Operations.
· Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or technical equivalent, along with one year of relevant experience or equivalent technical training.
This position is available at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience and business needs, we may consider applicants at any level for which this position has been advertised.
Job Requirements:
· Ability to follow work instructions, interpret engineering drawings, and adhere to strict safety protocols.
· Availability to work all shifts and a reasonable amount of overtime with minimal prior notice.
· Strong communication skills.
· Capability to lift 40 lbs.
· Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
· Experience with mechanical, electrical, weather systems, and instrumentation is preferred.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and other software is advantageous.
· Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident status is required.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.
· Required to wear personal protective equipment.
· Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
· Physical demands include sitting, walking, standing, and climbing.
Work Environment:
· Required to work both indoors and outdoors throughout the testing complex.
· May require travel to different areas on site.
· Must navigate uneven terrain to access various locations.
· All work must comply with safety standards.
Equipment and Machines:
· Computers and printers for generating reports and schedules.
· Various equipment utilized in testing.
Attendance:
· Full-time work hours with potential for occasional overtime.
· Dependability and punctuality are essential.
Other Essential Functions:
· Ability to communicate ideas effectively in both written and verbal formats.
