EHS Projects Specialist

Job Summary:
Universal Orlando Resort is seeking an EHS Projects Specialist to join our team. As an EHS Projects Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating, advising, and providing technical support for creative project designs and determinations. You will validate drawings, project submittals, and other related documents for accuracy and conformance with local regulations, permits, and global EHS policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct reviews of project design documents to ensure conformance with EHS standards and regulations.
- Maintain electronic recordkeeping systems for EHS design review comments and recommendations.
- Act as the EHS project liaison with site divisions, Universal Creative, and other key stakeholders to evaluate and maintain EHS conformance on new creative project designs.
- Participate in onsite verification to ensure project compliance with corporate or regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate effective communication between contractors, design engineers, project management teams, and EHS business lines throughout the project phase.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering/Management, Public Health, Environment, or Biological or Educational Sciences or associated degree.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial and/or construction roles, with hazard recognition and mitigation, technical report preparation, and executive communications.
- Planning, scheduling, and organization are critical skill sets for success.
