Position Overview

This full-time, on-site role focuses on quality assurance within the manufacturing sector. The Quality Control Specialist will oversee daily inspection processes to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality benchmarks. Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager, this position will involve supporting various manufacturing operations, including initial inspections, in-process evaluations, and final assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze intricate manufacturing blueprints, including limited dimensions, model-based designs, and GD&T.
  • Utilize gauging and inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) effectively.
  • Select suitable inspection instruments based on specific applications.
  • Conduct high-precision mechanical inspections.
  • Complete necessary documentation, including dimensional inspection reports.
  • Perform visual inspections adhering to K-Form, customer, and military specifications.
  • Develop and implement quality plans, including specialized control strategies.
  • Maintain a calibration schedule for inspection equipment.
  • Manage the return process for non-conforming materials.
  • Execute root cause analysis utilizing the 5 Whys technique.
  • Prioritize inspection tasks in alignment with the production schedule.

General Qualifications

  • Proficient computer skills are essential.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including algebra and geometry, are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes is beneficial.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the K-Form manufacturing team.
  • Adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.

Preferred Skills and Experience

While not mandatory, the following skills are advantageous:

  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Current ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or Certified Quality Technician credentials.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic prototype environment.
  • Experience in a Lean manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 standards.
  • Experience in completing AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
  • Understanding of process measurement and improvement methodologies.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with standard working hours.
