Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Administrative Assistant, you will utilize your expertise to perform a range of clinical and non-clinical administrative support tasks, including:

  • Managing the flow of patient documentation
  • Coordinating appointment schedules
  • Organizing meetings, events, and travel arrangements
  • Overseeing calendars
  • Preparing reports and presentation materials
  • Handling invoices and reimbursements
  • Composing and transcribing correspondence and documents
  • Assisting with departmental projects and activities

  • Answering phone calls and providing follow-up support
  • Anticipating and addressing the needs of healthcare providers and patients

Qualifications
This position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D.

with at least two years of experience in an administrative support role, or a one-year degree/diploma in an administrative, business, or medical-related field with a minimum of one year of relevant experience, or an associate's degree in an administrative, business, or medical-related program.


Experience in administrative support must include responsibilities such as meeting management, calendar coordination, and the use of business software for creating databases, spreadsheets, and presentations.

Individuals lacking relevant medical education or experience will need to complete a Medical Terminology course within six months of employment.

Knowledge of Anatomy/Physiology may also be required based on the role and background.

Strong skills in organization, customer service, professionalism, interpersonal relations, and effective communication are essential, along with the ability to prioritize and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should demonstrate sound decision-making, judgment, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Experience in travel coordination and expense management is preferred. Proficiency in English grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure is required.

Familiarity with computer hardware and software, telecommunications, and office equipment is necessary, along with the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously.

Work-related experience within the last ten years is preferred.
