Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and animal-loving individual to join our team as a Dog Daycare Attendant at MassHire Lowell Career Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our canine clients.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise dogs to ensure their safety and comfort at all times.
  • Recognize and respond to dog body language and behavior, including observing changes in patterns such as excessive licking, panting, limping, or wounds.
  • Correct behavior using positive reinforcement techniques, such as treats and praise.
  • Provide fresh water and clean/rake the yard throughout the day to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Perform daily, nightly, weekly, and monthly chores and cleaning tasks.
  • Check dogs in and out of the facility and handle client transactions.

Requirements

  • Diploma or GED, with a minimum age of 18.
  • Prior experience working with dogs in shelters, daycare, or kennels.
  • A genuine passion for animal care and welfare.
  • Familiarity with various dog breeds and their characteristics.
  • Physical stamina to handle cleaning and dog handling tasks.
  • Leadership skills to effectively manage dog behavior.
  • Kindness and acceptance towards all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities of dogs.
  • Reliable transportation and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with clients and staff.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
