Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the proper handling of instruments and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain operating room equipment, supplies, and instruments, adhering to strict aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
- Participate in surgical counts, manage intraoperative medications, and ensure the proper handling and disposal of surgical specimens.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement effective perioperative care plans, ensuring seamless transitions between preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, participating in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in surgical technology.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a training program for surgical technology or equivalent experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
