Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Billing Compliance Program Manager to join our team at LifeMed Alaska LLC. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations related to EMS charting and billing practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive billing compliance program to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with our leadership and operational teams to identify and address compliance issues.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between LifeMed Alaska LLC and our outside billing partner.
  • Investigate and resolve internal and external reports of billing and regulatory compliance concerns.
  • Monitor adherence to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures, and identify potential vulnerability and risk areas.
Requirements
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Policy development and experience in writing standard operating procedures.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work within a team.
  • Knowledge of ambulatory and EMS industry documentation, to include billing practices and requirements.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and electronic medical information systems.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, Private Insurance, Auto Insurance, and IHS regulations and requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification from a professional organization (AAHAM, HFMA, AAPC, NAAC, etc.).
  • Experience in transport billing and management.
  • Knowledge of medical records and electronic information systems.
