Position Overview:


The Event Services Technician is tasked with operating a company service vehicle and traveling to various event locations to service, pump, and clean portable sanitation units or holding tanks.

This role also includes the basic pick-up and delivery of units and the installation and dismantling of temporary fencing at special events.

Workdays are typically from Thursday to Monday.

The Event Services Technician must be prepared to travel to support events across the region and assist other areas as required.


Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of the vehicle and report any deficiencies to management promptly. Perform daily checks on all tools assigned to the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality. Verify that the vehicle is loaded with all necessary materials (units, fence panels, poles, etc.) and tools to fulfill service requests.

Operate service vehicles to and from designated work sites based on assignment details. Maintain a clean and well-stocked vehicle.


Drive flatbed trucks to and from designated work sites according to daily routing information to deliver or retrieve portable sanitation units, handwashing stations, holding tanks, or containers.

Update systems and service tickets with relevant delivery or pick-up information.


Drive fence trucks to and from designated work sites based on daily routing information to deliver or retrieve fencing materials (chain link, panels, etc.).

Act as a point of contact on fencing projects where a crew is assigned to the job and operate fencing installation equipment.

Operate tanker/transfer trucks to and from local disposal sites and complete necessary paperwork as required.


Service portable sanitation units, holding tanks, septic systems, sinks, showers, etc., at various job sites by adhering to the company's servicing protocols.

Notify management of any issues encountered during assigned routes.


Unload all fencing materials and install panels using appropriate tools at the job site according to predetermined specifications.

Locate, measure, and mark the placement for panels and installation.

Troubleshoot and address basic repairs and maintenance on-site to avoid disrupting the customer experience. Report all special maintenance requests and/or equipment replacements as necessary.

Perform pick-up and delivery of United Site Services units at customer locations in a timely manner, aligning with customer requirements.

Strategically plan for customer needs by discussing their pick-up and delivery requirements to ensure satisfaction of current and future needs.

Collaborate with dispatch to stay informed on service schedule changes throughout the day and adapt as necessary.

Conduct all work duties safely in accordance with United Site Services and DOT safety standards to prevent accidents or injuries.

Engage with customers on-site to ensure their service expectations are met.

Work with Operations Manager/Supervisor/Coordinator by providing customer feedback related to service needs and expectations.

Meet with site representatives to confirm work orders.

Maintain communication with supervisors via telephone or radio to receive additional instructions or changes to work locations.

Keep a truck log in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Ability to read, comprehend, and adhere to the regulations of the Federal Transit Administration and U.S. Department of Transportation.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Ability to identify vehicle maintenance needs.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient language and mathematical skills.

Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one settings to customers, clients, and other associates.

Valid Technician License (Class CDL A or B with endorsement or Class C, D, or E depending on state regulations).

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit while driving and stand while servicing products.

Use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Repetitive movements.

Ability to see details of objects at varying distances.

Clear speech for customer understanding.

Ability to comprehend spoken communication.

Ability to hear and distinguish sounds.

Ability to walk for extended periods without exertion.

Ability to enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling.

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs from waist to shoulders.

Ability to lift 30 lbs from the floor to head height.

Ability to crouch and squat.

Ability to push and pull 100 lbs horizontally.

Salary Range:
$18.00 – $36.00 / hour

At United Site Services, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US.

Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by geographic location, job-related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
