Position Overview:


The Event Services Technician is tasked with operating a company service vehicle and traveling to various locations during events to service, pump, and clean portable restrooms or holding tanks.

This role also involves the basic pick-up and delivery of units, as well as the installation and removal of temporary fencing at special events.

The work schedule typically spans from Thursday to Monday.

The Event Services Technician must be prepared to travel to support special events in the region and assist other regions as necessary.


Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily pre-shift vehicle inspections and promptly report any deficiencies to management. Ensure all tools assigned to the vehicle are inspected daily for safety and functionality. Verify that the truck is fully stocked with all necessary materials (units, fence panels, poles, etc.) and tools to complete service tickets.

Operate service vehicles to and from designated work sites based on assignment details. Maintain a clean and well-stocked vehicle.


Drive flatbed trucks to deliver or pick up portable restroom units, hand sinks, holding tanks, or containers based on daily routing information.

Update the system and service tickets with relevant delivery or pick-up details.


Drive fence trucks to deliver or pick up fencing materials (chain link, panels, etc.) based on daily routing information. Serve as a point of contact on fence jobs where a crew is assigned to the job/truck and operate fence installation equipment as needed.

Operate tanker/transfer trucks to and from local disposal sites and complete necessary paperwork.


Service portable restrooms, holding tanks, septic tanks, sinks, showers, etc., at various job sites following company servicing guidelines.

Report any issues encountered during the assigned route to management.


Unload fencing materials and install panels using appropriate tools at the work site according to predetermined specifications.

Locate, measure, and mark the placement for panels and installation.

Troubleshoot and address basic repairs and maintenance on-site to ensure customer satisfaction. Report all special maintenance requests and equipment replacements in the system.

Perform timely pick-up and delivery of United Site Services units at customer locations based on their needs.

Strategically plan for customer requirements by discussing their pick-up and delivery needs to ensure satisfaction.

Coordinate with dispatch to stay updated on service schedule changes throughout the day and adapt as necessary.

Conduct all work duties safely in accordance with USS and DOT safety standards to prevent accidents or injuries.

Engage with customers on-site to ensure services meet their expectations.

Collaborate with Operations Manager/Supervisor/Coordinator by providing feedback related to service needs and expectations.

Meet with site representatives to confirm work orders.

Maintain communication with supervisors via telephone or radio for additional instructions or changes to work locations.

Keep a truck log in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications:
Ability to read, understand, and comply with the rules and regulations of the Federal Transit Administration and U.S. Department of Transportation.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in mathematical skills.

Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to address problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one settings to customers, clients, and colleagues.

Valid Technician License (Class CDL A or B with endorsement or Class C, D, or E depending on state regulations).

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit while driving and stand while servicing products.

Use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Perform repetitive movements.

Ability to see details of objects at varying distances.

Communicate clearly so customers can understand.

Comprehend speech from others.

Recognize sounds and differentiate between them.

Walk for up to 30 minutes at a time without exertion.

Enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling.

Lift up to 40 lbs from waist to shoulders.

Lift 30 lbs from the floor to head height.

Crouch and squat as needed.

Push and pull up to 100 lbs horizontally.

Salary Range:
$18.00 – $36.00 / hour

At United Site Services, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US.

Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by geographic location, job-related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
