Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Sev1Tech is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of network services in support of Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS) networks.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of routing/switching, firewalls, load balancers, and proxy servers, as well as experience with Cisco technologies, including ISR, ASR, CSR, ASA, Nexus, and TACACS/ISE.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing enterprise-wide network solutions
  • Producing SDLC project artifacts, including requirements, design documents, diagrams, and other required documentation
  • Troubleshooting network incidents and providing root cause analysis
  • Coordinating system maintenance, monitoring, and installation of multiple WAN/LAN environments
  • Developing and maintaining a roadmap for capabilities, operations, and technologies
  • Assisting with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation of all network configuration upgrades, additions, or revisions
  • Supporting network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts
  • Evaluating and reporting on new/emerging network/communication technologies
  • Representing customer requirements in technical exchanges with other government agencies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Eight (8) years of federal IT contracting experience on network and infrastructure programs
  • Six (6) to seven (7) years hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, and firewall technology
  • Six (6) to seven (7) years working in a WAN environment, strong experience in incident and operations management

Certification Requirement:

  • CCNA certification

Clearance Requirement:

  • Public Trust clearance or higher; Public Trust clearance with Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS) or Customs & Border Protection (CBP) preferred

Desired Qualifications:

  • CCNP, CCIE, Palo Alto, F5 certifications
  • Palo Alto firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, BlueCoat/Symantec Proxies, SDN/SD-WAN, Cloud (AWS, Azure, O365), SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, Unix/Linux, Python, Perl, NetScout software/hardware
