Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to lead and participate in multiple team environments, driving system integration, design, and implementation. The ideal candidate will possess advanced engineering and network principles, theories, concepts, and technologies to solve complex problems and issues.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Lead project teams in the selection, recommendation, and approval of tools and technologies to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
  2. Provide recommendations for system automation, create and maintain reports for patch compliance and system audit data, and perform ongoing maintenance and administration of assigned systems.
  3. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, document issues and associated resolutions, and evaluate, build, integrate, test, and prepare systems for operational use and patches for rapid remediation and deployment.
  4. Serve as the interface between Lumen and Government POC regarding planned and unplanned maintenance events and incident response, identifying impacted Lumen circuits and services.
  5. Analyze complex local and wide area network systems and/or customer network environments, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites, and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.
Requirements
  • Typically 6+ years of experience in electrical/computer engineering or computer science, with a Bachelor's degree or 4+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Knowledge and experience in computer network operations, network access and protection techniques and technologies, software coding, encryption, and cross-domain solutions.
  • Experience with system security concepts, system security assessments, threat and vulnerability management, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Experience in reporting status and recommendations for improvements to federal government or commercial leadership, developing and implementing patch management methodologies using various automation toolsets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative manner with others, establish rapport, interview/fact-find, define requirements, present options/recommend solutions, follow-up, and customer-focused behavior.
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic team environment with changing requirements and competing priorities.
