Overview

Mission Veterinary Partners is seeking a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team at Morrison Animal Hospital. As a key member of our medical support team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Provide in-patient medical care, including administering medications, assisting with treatments, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Assist with anesthesia and surgery, including preparing patients, maintaining equipment, and monitoring recovery.
  • Support dental care, including ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, and assisting with dental surgery.
  • Contribute to radiology, including positioning patients and assisting with radiographs.
  • Perform laboratory duties, including collecting and preparing samples for testing, and reading and recording results.
  • Prepare invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools.
  • Communicate with clients regarding hospitalized patients, including providing updates and discharge instructions.
  • Teach and educate clients on at-home care procedures.
  • Assist with reception and front desk duties as needed.
  • Participate in training and mentoring new team members.
  • Assist with inventory control and preparing prescriptions.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of general veterinary practice experience.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb, as well as manipulate up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with a coworker.
  • Good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment.
  • Ability to work in noisy conditions with sounds from animals and equipment.
  • Exposure to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and occasional exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.
