Role Summary: The Receptionist serves as the initial and final point of contact for clients, playing a crucial role in establishing positive first and lasting impressions. The Receptionist will assist veterinarians, technicians, veterinary assistants, groomers, and kennel staff in providing excellent patient and client care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome clients and their pets warmly, fostering a positive and solution-focused atmosphere.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, addressing client inquiries regarding basic animal care, routine procedures, and veterinary services.
  • Efficiently screen and direct calls to the appropriate personnel, ensuring timely message delivery and accurate medical record retrieval.
  • Schedule appointments and surgeries in accordance with established guidelines, confirming appointments as necessary.
  • Document key points from client conversations in medical records, including date, time, and relevant details.
  • Accurately process charges and explain invoices, ensuring clients understand the value of the services rendered.
  • Collect payments for services provided, including cash, credit card processing, and check verification.
  • Verify client eligibility for charge accounts.
  • Maintain accurate client information in medical and computer records.
  • Assist clients with prescription refills and provide routine care instructions.
  • Educate clients on preventative care products and services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding and communication tools.
  • Familiarity with veterinary terminology, including pronunciation and spelling.
  • Excellent spelling and grammar skills.
