Business Liaison Librarian Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Business Liaison Librarian to join our team at the University of Vermont Libraries. As a key member of our Information and Instruction Services Department, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching, learning, and research endeavors of the University.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and Maintain Collaborative Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff in assigned liaison areas, fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual support.
  • Provide Curricular and Co-Curricular Support: Design and deliver information literacy and research skills instruction, working closely with faculty to identify research and information literacy needs of majors.
  • Cultivate Partnerships: Collaborate with liaison departments and faculty to support information literacy and research, creating innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of the University community.
  • Develop Instructional Materials: Create online tutorials, research guides, and other instructional resources to support student learning and success.
  • Contribute to Collection Development: Work with faculty and other stakeholders to identify and acquire resources that support the research and teaching needs of the University.
  • Engage in Scholarship and Service: Develop an agenda for scholarship and/or creative activities, contributing to the Libraries', the University's, and the profession's missions.
Requirements:
  • Experience and/or Ability: Develop as a research and instruction/teaching librarian, with a strong foundation in academic librarianship and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Effective Communication and Collaboration: Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.
  • Initiative and Project Management: Take initiative, develop and complete projects, and manage multiple projects and deadlines, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a strong understanding of the importance of creating inclusive and welcoming environments.
