Business Liaison Librarian Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Business Liaison Librarian to join our team at the University of Vermont Libraries. As a key member of our Information and Instruction Services Department, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching, learning, and research endeavors of the University.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and Maintain Collaborative Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff in assigned liaison areas, fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual support.
  • Provide Curricular and Co-Curricular Support: Design and deliver information literacy and research skills instruction, working closely with faculty to meet the needs of students in assigned liaison areas.
  • Cultivate Partnerships: Collaborate with liaison departments and faculty to identify research and information literacy needs, developing innovative solutions to support student success.
  • Develop Instructional Materials: Create online tutorials, research guides, and other instructional resources to support student learning and research.
  • Contribute to Collection Development: Work with faculty and other librarians to develop and maintain relevant and effective collections in assigned liaison areas.
  • Engage in Scholarship and Service: Pursue scholarly and creative activities, contributing to the advancement of the field of librarianship, and engage in service activities at the library, university, and professional levels.
Requirements:
  • Experience and/or Ability: Possess experience and/or the ability to develop as a research and instruction/teaching librarian.
  • Work or Educational Experience: Have work or educational experience related to instruction, reference, and/or consulting services in academic libraries.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills necessary for professional communication and scholarly work.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Show demonstrated effectiveness of collaborating with others as part of a team, and the ability to engage and work productively with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Initiative and Project Management: Possess the ability to take initiative, develop and complete projects, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Potential for Scholarship: Demonstrate potential to develop as a scholar and contribute to the field of librarianship.
  • Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: Show a demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, with awareness and understanding of diverse thought, cultures, race, religion, gender, and other differences.
