Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Vice President of Perioperative Services to lead our perioperative team at VCU Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of perioperative services, including quality and safety, patient and family experience, growth, access, throughput, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve perioperative services and achieve organizational goals.
  • Lead and manage a team of perioperative professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a culture of safety, quality, and excellence.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure financial sustainability and growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure VCU Health remains a leader in perioperative services.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in perioperative services, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of success in improving quality and safety, reducing costs, and increasing patient satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Experience in a Magnet-designated hospital and academic medical center.
  • Certification in nursing administration or perioperative nursing.
