Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our team as an Assistant Vice President for Units & Strategic Development Initiatives. This is a full-time, permanent position that will play a critical role in advancing the University of Washington's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and management to program units, including KUOW, KEXP, UW Continuum College, and UW Libraries.
  • Guide and support unit Chief Advancement Officers (CAOs) in achieving established fundraising metrics and goals.
  • Attract and retain top-level team members with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
  • Foster a culture of high performance and creativity among the assigned CAO cohort.
  • Ensure assigned cohort units are campaign-ready by helping craft a compelling vision, identify prospects and volunteers, and develop meaningful engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with other Development leaders, central Advancement teams, and University stakeholders to encourage multidisciplinary engagement and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience within the field of development.
  • Extensive administrative and leadership experience in a large, complex higher-education or fundraising environment.
  • Fundraising experience at a comprehensive research university or health-care institution.
  • Prior campaign experience.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion among staff and volunteers.
