Position Overview

Our healthcare professionals play a crucial role in the rehabilitation process for chronic, critically ill, and medically complex patients.

Job Responsibilities

This role involves planning, coordinating, and delivering continuing education and in-service training for the facility, including General Orientation. Responsibilities include developing a monthly educational calendar, conducting compliance training, and creating educational goals based on identified needs through Quality Council and annual assessments. Collaboration with managers and peers is essential to evaluate staff competency.

Key Responsibilities

Establishes and develops educational objectives based on needs identified through Quality Council, Annual Assessments, and specific training needs assessments. Oversees the development, planning, and coordination of general hospital orientation, working with various department heads to incorporate their specialty areas. Creates and maintains orientation modules for new inpatient staff, registered nurses, and licensed vocational nurses. Develops and manages the education operating budget. Coordinates ongoing and in-service education for the facility. Facilitates periodic in-service training on topics identified by the Hospital Quality Council or a designated Performance Improvement Team. Participates as a member of the Hospital Quality Council. Promotes adherence to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Corporate Compliance Agreement by monitoring employee performance and addressing compliance issues. Ensures that all employees receive necessary compliance training and education to fulfill their job responsibilities, tracking training status as required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations: Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in basic computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, word-processing, and spreadsheet software. Capable of organizing tasks, developing action plans, setting priorities, and functioning under pressure. Ability to maintain effective working relationships within the department and across other departments. Familiarity with accreditation standards and compliance requirements. Demonstrates critical thinking, appropriate prioritization, and time management skills. Ability to work under stress and respond promptly in emergency situations. Travel requirements: Limited. Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related healthcare field. A Master's degree in nursing or a healthcare-related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Licenses/Certification:

Appropriate state licensure for clinical specialty. BCLS and ACLS certifications. Clinical Nurse Specialist certification is preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of experience as a clinical preceptor or in a management role is required. At least five years of experience in an acute care Medical/Surgical and/or ICU/CCU setting is necessary.
