  • Situated on expansive grounds, The Home for Little Wanderers operates as a residential treatment facility dedicated to providing therapeutic and educational support for adolescents facing considerable social-emotional, behavioral, and academic hurdles.
  • As Educational Support Specialists, our team members deliver essential assistance to students within the classroom setting while also overseeing and guiding them in various environments. They collaborate closely with educators and special education professionals to exemplify constructive behavior, uphold classroom protocols, and enhance student learning experiences. Furthermore, they maintain communication with residential staff, supervisors, and educational personnel to ensure the safety and integrity of both residential and academic programs.

  • Educational Support Specialists play a crucial role in providing necessary support for students requiring social and behavioral guidance throughout the school day.
  • They assist educators in establishing a clear and consistent framework for classroom behavior.
  • Support Specialists help in creating structured routines for managing students' individual and group tasks.
  • They closely monitor academic progress and maintain detailed records of student performance.
  • Foster and exemplify appropriate relationships with students.
  • Assist educators and program coordinators in managing student behavior within established school and classroom frameworks.
  • Actively participate in supervision and professional development programs.
  • Therapeutic Environment
  • Provide a nurturing, secure, and consistent atmosphere for students in residential settings.
  • Lead or assist in managing group transitions during meals and after school activities.
  • Implement consistent routines for morning wake-up, meals, and other daily activities.
  • Participate in on-call and overnight support rotations.

Supportive Role

  • Ensure safe transportation for students.
  • Collaborate with team members across educational and residential settings.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or 48 credits in education or a related human services field.
  • NH DOE Para II licensure or assistance in obtaining licensure.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Completion of CPI Training is required.
  • Preferred driving record for student transportation.

Physical Requirements
