Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our esteemed Gastroenterology Practice. Prior experience is advantageous, yet we welcome enthusiastic candidates with a keen interest in Gastroenterology and a strong work ethic. New graduates are highly encouraged to submit their applications.

This role entails delivering comprehensive medical care, including conducting medical screenings and evaluations. As a gastroenterology specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and managing patients with gastrointestinal disorders. The selected candidate will be expected to consult with patients, which involves gathering initial medical histories and performing physical assessments, as well as following up with patients post-procedures (such as colonoscopies and endoscopies), prescribing medications, and coordinating necessary referrals or additional tests. A valid State of California Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License and BLS certification are required for this position.

Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a full, current, and unrestricted State of California Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License.
  2. Valid BLS Certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and disease processes.
  • Understand a variety of pharmacological agents utilized in patient treatment, including their effects and potential complications.
  • Provide a comprehensive range of nurse practitioner services as authorized by the Medical Director/Gastroenterologist, including general screenings and medical examinations for various conditions.
  • Diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as necessary, addressing both acute and chronic conditions within established protocols and in collaboration with physicians.
  • Facilitate consultations or referrals to appropriate specialists and order diagnostic tests as needed. Prescribe and manage medications.
  • Coordinate patient care to ensure optimal outcomes regarding quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Adhere to standards of care and practice in line with established policies and guidelines.
  • Deliver care within ethical and legal parameters.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team to inform healthcare plans and enhance patient education.
  • Participate in committees and meetings as directed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and promote safe practices in compliance with regulatory standards.
