Position Overview:
Kaiser Permanente is in search of an experienced Nurse Practitioner specializing in Pediatrics for a role in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Responsibilities:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be tasked with evaluating a select group of patients within the designated service area. The NP will:
  • Conduct thorough physical assessments and engage with patients both in-person and through digital communication.
  • Collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless patient care experience aligned with established quality standards.
  • Report directly to the Chief of the designated service and the Department Manager.

Key Duties:
The NP will be responsible for:
  • Practicing in accordance with established protocols and Kaiser Permanente policies.
  • Performing age-appropriate evaluations, including comprehensive history taking and physical examinations.
  • Collecting and analyzing patient data systematically, focusing on various aspects of patient health.
  • Consulting with supervising physicians as necessary based on patient assessments.
  • Working collaboratively with other clinicians to ensure effective patient care.
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and ordering diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Establishing communication channels with other healthcare providers to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Building strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Coordinating the activities of healthcare team members and evaluating the effectiveness of care provided.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and demonstrating calmness in emergency situations.
  • Engaging in professional development activities and contributing to performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months as a Nurse Practitioner.
- At least 1 year of experience in pediatric care within the last three years.

Education:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
- Completion of a Master’s program in Family Practice NP or Pediatric NP is essential.

Licenses and Certifications:
- Nurse Practitioner Certificate (California)
- Registered Nurse License (California)
- Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number (California)
- National Nurse Practitioner Certification
- Basic Life Support certification required.

Additional Requirements:
- Must meet credentialing standards for nurse practitioners within the Kaiser system.
- PALS and/or PEARS and/or NALS certifications may be necessary.
