About the Job

We are seeking a Compliance Officer to join our team at the Sacramento Suburban Water District. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work in a dynamic environment with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and risk management.

Job Summary

The Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the organization's operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, risk assessment methodologies, and business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and training programs to minimize risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential compliance issues and develop corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with departments to integrate compliance practices into daily operations.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills and exercises.
  • Analyze compliance data and develop strategies to improve regulatory compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business administration, environmental science, law) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field, preferably in a water utility or similar industry.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Possession of a professional certification (e.g., CPR, OSHA) or ability to obtain one within 2 years.
Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $105,000 per year
