Research Associate I- Oakland

We are seeking a detail-oriented and communicative individual to work as a field interviewer for our Life Course/Cognitive Aging Research Group. This role involves recruiting and retaining aging Black participants in the Oakland and Berkeley areas for the Study of Healthy Aging in African Americans (STAR). The ideal candidate will be committed to furthering research in ethnically and racially diverse aging populations.
Key Responsibilities- Screen, recruit, and schedule participants for clinic- and home-based in-person interviews.
- Administer a structured interview including a detailed questionnaire about life experiences, a cognitive test battery, and the collection of physical measurements.
- Assist with in-office administrative support for the team as needed.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in one or more of the technical areas required.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in Labor/Management Partnership environment.
- Bachelor degree in public health, health care administration, epidemiology, or other related field preferred.
- Experience working with recruitment and retention in diverse communities.
- Spanish/English Bilingual/Biliterate preferred but not required.
This is a part-time position with a scheduled weekly hours of 24. The workdays are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with working hours starting at 09:00 AM and ending at 05:30 PM. The job schedule is part-time, and the job type is standard. The worker location is flexible, and the employee status is regular.
