Anesthesia Technician Specialist

To provide technical support to the Anesthesia team at Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland. Assist in the setup and maintenance of anesthesia equipment, and provide support for the administration of anesthesia. Collaborate with the Anesthesia team to ensure the smooth operation of the Operating Room.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the setup and maintenance of anesthesia equipment, including ventilators, anesthesia machines, and monitoring devices.
• Provide support for the administration of anesthesia, including preparing and maintaining anesthesia carts and supplies.
• Collaborate with the Anesthesia team to ensure the smooth operation of the Operating Room, including assisting with patient preparation and positioning.
• Maintain accurate records of anesthesia equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; AA Degree preferred.
• Two years experience as an Anesthesia Technician in a similar environment or comparable related training, including chemistry, math, physics or electronics.
• Basic Life Support Certification required; Anesthesia Technician Certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 6-8 hours.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach, up to 6 hours.
• Ability to lift and move equipment, up to 25 pounds, with assistance or equipment.
• Ability to hear alarms, clients, and/or instructions.
• Ability to see accurately from 20 inches to 20 feet.
Working Conditions:
• Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Exposure to chemicals, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous materials.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and patients.
