Job Summary:

This is a clinical position at Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland where the incumbent performs neuro-diagnostic testing including EEG studies in both the outpatient ambulatory and inpatient settings. The incumbent must be technically adept, have excellent patient care and customer service skill sets, and be able to work with severely ill pediatric patient populations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform neuro-diagnostic testing including EEG studies in both outpatient ambulatory and inpatient settings.
• Work with severely ill pediatric patient populations.
• Possess excellent patient care and customer service skill sets.
• Be technically adept in neuro-diagnostic testing.

Requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Preparatory coursework in sciences such as biology, anatomy, physiology, and/or chemistry.
• Graduate of approved program in Neurophysiology/Neuro-diagnostics preferred.
• A minimum of 1-5 years of clinical experience in an inpatient or ambulatory setting that includes performance of Neurophysiology/Neuro-diagnostics, including EEG's required.
• Must have basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Must be able to work with ill and uncooperative children.
• Bilingual in Spanish or Southeast Asian languages preferred.
• Current American Heart BLS Certification Required.
• Must pass department administered proficiency testing.
• Must complete National Certification testing within 2 years of hire.

Physical Requirements:

• Sit: Up to 6 hours/day.
• Stand/Walk: 4-6 hours.
• Bend/Stoop: Up to 6 hours.
• Reach: Up to 6 hours.
• Rep Use of UE: Up to 6 hours.
• Lift/Push/Pull: 50 pounds, over 50 pounds with assistance or equipment.
• The ability to hear alarms, clients and/or instruction.
• The ability to see accurately from 20 inches to 20 feet.
