The role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for veterans presenting in emergency situations. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough safety and risk assessments, as well as performing urgent evaluations as necessary. Additionally, the psychiatrist will provide occasional inpatient psychiatric care and consultative services.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Must be a United States citizen, as non-citizens may only be appointed under specific circumstances.
  2. Possession of a medical degree or an equivalent qualification in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  3. A valid, unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia.
  4. Completion of residency training in psychiatry is required.
