Position: Assessment and Intensive Treatment Psychiatrist

Role Overview: The MedChi organization is actively seeking a dedicated full-time Psychiatrist specializing in Assessment and Intensive Treatment (AIT) to provide critical evaluations for veterans presenting in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive safety and risk assessments for veterans in urgent care settings.
  • Perform necessary urgent safety evaluations as required.
  • Offer occasional inpatient psychiatric support and psychiatric consultation services.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be a United States citizen; non-citizens may only be considered when qualified citizens are unavailable.
  2. Possess a Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  3. Hold a current, unrestricted medical license to practice in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States.
  4. Completion of residency training in psychiatry is mandatory.

This position is essential for ensuring the mental health and safety of veterans in critical situations, and it requires a compassionate and skilled professional committed to providing high-quality psychiatric care.
