Job Title: Associate Director, Community Engagement
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Associate Director to join our Community Engagement and Volunteer Center team. The successful candidate will provide strategic vision, leadership, and support to enhance faculty involvement, develop community partnerships, and implement student leadership and co-curricular programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide vision, leadership, and support for community engagement programs, including courses, faculty involvement, community partnership development, and other co-curricular programs.
- Direct the Community Engagement Coordinating Council and faculty development programs to enhance Community-Engaged Learning.
- Develop and implement programming to support faculty in integrating Community-Engaged Learning through best practices, course development resources, and/or connections to community partners.
- Supervise staff focused on community engagement, including assistant director for community partnerships, student coordinators, and faculty liaisons.
- Oversee the learning, development, and connection of student coordinators, including fall training, senior convocation, and weekly meetings focused on learning for professional skills, personal growth, and social impact.
- Initiate and facilitate program evaluation and outcomes assessment, including developing learning outcomes and partnering with staff, faculty members, and community representatives for implementation.
- Support the flow of information with CEVC, JMU, the local community, and additional stakeholders regarding program, departmental and institutional mission, vision, values, goals, policies, issues, and decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Community Engaged Learning / Service-Learning
- Ability to develop internal and external partnerships
- Adept at fostering collaborative environments between students, faculty, staff, and community partners
- Strong planning, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
