Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our fraternity and sorority community as the Associate Director for Student Life, Fraternity and Sorority Life. This senior position is responsible for promoting the success of a fraternal community comprised of over 4,000 members across 32 chapters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic vision, leadership, support, and training to promote a culture of inclusiveness, excellence, and the ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, and personal accountability.
  • Supervise two AP Faculty Coordinator positions and indirectly supervise two Graduate Assistants and several undergraduate student positions.
  • Develop and implement educational, developmental, risk prevention, and management programs such as "Stop the Haze" and "Good Neighbor Program".
  • Assist councils and chapters with achieving philanthropic goals, engaging in community service, and building connections with local community.
  • Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders such as advisors, IHQ representatives, campus partners, and community members.
  • Assist the Office of Student Accountability and Restorative Practices as they manage the student organization accountability process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated previous professional experience working with fraternities and sororities
  • Experience developing, communicating, and achieving organizational mission and vision
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and working to support the diverse needs of a college student population
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting staff growth and development for new professionals, graduate assistants, and student staff in a professional environment
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of relevant legislation and risk management and prevention in a fraternity and sorority and residential university setting
  • Experience developing and implementing assessment and evaluation in achieving continuous improvement
  • Ability to apply student development theory in managing student staff and developing and implementing educational programs
  • Ability to foster a collaborative environment and to work collaboratively across organizational lines with a variety of constituents to include students, advisors, faculty, staff, headquarters' contacts, alumni, parents, and community members
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated involvement at the local, regional, and national level
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as appropriate
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in college student personnel, higher education administration, or related field
  • Multiple years of increasingly responsible supervisory experience
