Lumber Production Specialist

Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Lumber Production Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the sorting, cutting, and processing of raw materials into lumber and timber products of various sizes.
In this role, you will oversee the unloading and stacking of materials at the mill, perform equipment maintenance and inventory management, and ensure quality control and safety standards are met. You will also assist with warehouse and loading truck operations as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse operations, distribution, and building materials, with experience in forklift operation and hardwood knowledge a plus.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate forklift truck during the loading and unloading of lumber material
- Utilize cutting tools and equipment such as power saw and circular saw
- Oversee the sorting arrangement of lumber according to size
- Guide lumber through mill equipment and plan for fine finishing and processing
- Take inventory and maintain accurate records of material and process orders
- Maximize production time and finish product yield
- Perform quality control on finished products
- Maintain PPE and safety equipment
- Ability to calculate tallies and understand differences between LF and BF
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during work operations
- Physical strength, dexterity, and stamina required
- Manage routine maintenance and necessary repairs on equipment
- Assure that stock is handled properly and rotated to minimize waste and damage
- High School diploma
- Some experience in warehouse operations, distribution, and building materials or related product areas
- Forklift operation certification and hardwood knowledge a plus
As a Lumber Production Specialist, you will enjoy a competitive salary of approximately $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and location. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, employee assistance program, dental, vision, cancer, flexible spending account, life, 401k, and LTD, available on the first of the month following one month of continuous full-time employment.
