Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk II to join our team at the HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION. As a key member of our Medical Records Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient healthcare information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, maintain, and make available timely, accurate, and complete healthcare information to authorized users.
  • Conduct regular quantitative analysis of paper charts and electronic health records, including report inquiry, data collection instruments, and Decision Support System (DSS) reports.
  • Prioritize, locate, track, and transport patient healthcare records as needed.
  • Function as a link between medical staff, Telemedicine staff, and data specialists in regards to healthcare documentation.
  • Perform routine chart maintenance and ensure the availability of super-bills.
  • Provide customer support and training to users of both paper-based and electronic patient healthcare records.
  • Collaborate with other Medical Records staff and program staff to provide excellent customer service and facilitate a cohesive healthcare information management structure.
  • Participate in special projects for the department, including data integrity and compliance reviews.
Requirements
  • Provides general office skills, including answering phones and taking accurate messages.
  • Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift, schedule, or extended shift and/or overtime.
  • Requires knowledge of HIPAA and maintains confidentiality of patient and staff information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Medical Records or designee.
